President
Lieutenant Colonel Brent Hoddinott joined the Board of Directors for Community Living Quinte West in 2016 and was elected President in 2018.
LCol Hoddinott joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1993 and graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in 1997 with a Bachelor of Chemical and Materials Engineering. After receiving his Navigator Wings in 1998, he served on board the mighty flush-riveted CC-130E/H at both 436(T) Squadron and 429(T) Squadron in Trenton until 2005. In that period, he crisscrossed the globe many times on various operations. Between 2005 and 2008, he worked in the Air Staff in Ottawa as Executive Assistant to the then Assistant Chief of the Air Staff. In 2008, LCol Hoddinott was promoted to major and posted to 426 Training Squadron where he worked as a Flying Supervisor and then Deputy Commanding Officer.
In January 2010, he deployed to Haiti for Op Hestia as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Airlift Coordination Element. Here, his team was directly responsible for the repatriation of over 4,400 Canadian Entitled Persons. Then, in July 2010, he took command of Canadian Forces Station Alert and had the great fortune to have an uneventful command tour. In February 2011, LCol Hoddinott deployed to Malta, as OIC Tactical Air Transport Detachment, to conduct a Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation from Libya.
In June 2012, LCol Hoddinott was posted to Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC) as the lead International Mission Planner.
LCol Hoddinott was promoted to that rank in 2013 and through a serious of fortuitous events, he returned to Trenton in 2014 for year-long French training and then returned again in 2016 to command 426 (T) Trg Squadron. He is currently serving at the Royal Military College in Kingston.
LCol Hoddinott is married and the father of two boys.
Vice President
Callum was elected to the Board of Directors for Community Livign Quinte West in 2017 and was elected Vice-President in 2018.
Callum was born in Trenton, ON and grew up in the community before moving to Napanee when his parents were posted to CFB Kingston. 2015 saw a return to the Trenton area to set down roots. Along with his wife Angelica and their beautiful daughter Alexandra, Callum is looking to give back to the community that has given them so much.
His passion for helping those with intellectual disabilities stems from his uncle who spent much of his life institutionalized. It is Callum’s firm belief that everyone should be able to participate in their community to the fullest extent of their ability and he hopes that through his work with CLQW he can facilitate this.
Callum spends most of his time focused on his business, Innovative Tech Ltd., but nothing brings him joy like nights at home with his wife and daughter. Callum is presently in his first term with the CLQW Board of Directors but looks forward to years of service.
Director
Austin was first elected to the board in summer of 2020. Born and raised in Kingston, Ontario – he came to Trenton to pursue a job opportunity and fell in love with the area, eventually buying a home in Quinte West in 2019.
Austin was looking for a way to get more involved with his community when he found the opening on the Board of Directors for CLQW. He has a passion for helping others, and tries to see things from other perspectives whenever possible.
He and his soon to be wife Aleesha, can often be found taking their 16lb dog Louis “Litt” for laps around the beautiful Bleasdall Boulder, or Kayaking on the Trent River. He has also found a new found love for golf, though no amount of lessons or practice seem to help him get better at it.
Director
Barb was born in St. John’s , NL and received a BA, BEd from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Her very rewarding teaching career has brought her from schools in Newfoundland to schools in California, Colorado and in Trenton/Belleville thanks to her husband’s military career postings. Her family consists of her husband Colonel (retired) Wade, one son, two daughters, and two very cool teenage grandsons. She retired in 2005 and spends her retirement doing the many things she loves which include volunteering and singing with The Canadian Military Wives Choir Trenton.
Director
Beverly was born in Sheet Harbour Nova Scotia and moved to Ontario in 1996. She spent many years working in Long Term Care Facilities and Hospitals as both a Ward Clerk and Personal Support Worker.
In 2006, Beverly joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Aviation Technician. She served domestically on both sides of the country and abroad.
She always had a passion for working with the elderly and has been an advocate for those who could not advocate for themselves, she spent her free time volunteering at Veteran Centers, Palliative Care Support, and Coaching Youth Soccer.
Beverly has a military spouse, 3 children and 2 cats, she is looking forward to providing support in any way possible for CLQW.
Secretary and Self Advocates Rep
Dylan was born in northern Ontario and moved to the Belleville area at a young age. When Dylan turned 18 he came to be a part of Community Living Quinte West. Dylan just turned 21 this past July, he is currently living in an independent home with two roommates. Dylan first moved into our Lafferty Lodge home, then he moved to our Bentinck residence and in the past year and a half he has made the journey to live on his own. Dylan lives with two roommates that he moved with from our Bentinck residence. He is still working on his independent living skills and he does this with his roommates.
Dylan is a enjoys drawing and painting, he would like to further his drawing abilities by taking a drawing course. He likes to go for walks to burn off some of his energy. He likes to play video games which his does with his roommates. Dylan has a good sense of humor and likes to joke and have a good time. Dylan would like to work in construction but right now he is just enjoying the freedom of being on his own but is looking for employment.
Past President
Michelle Earle has been on the Board for Community Living Quinte West for twelve years and is in her swan song year as Past-President. Michelle’s interest in this field is sparked by her sister who has Down Syndrome. Michelle is very proud of her mother, Joan Scott, for the passion she showed for so many years for people with intellectual disabilities.
Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. For relaxation, she enjoys reading, boating, golfing, and looking after her grandchildren.
